Every reader needs a bookmark. (Unless you read your books all in one go, without interruptions, in which case, we applaud you! And are a little bit envious. . . .) In order to make bookmarks extra easy for just about anyone to have and use, we asked our art director to design a set of five free, fun, printable bookmarks for classrooms and families.

Download the file below, print in color on heavy cardstock (250 - 300 msg is ideal), and then cut them out using a scissors or paper-cutter. Alternatively, have your children or students cut them out during a read-aloud session, giving them something simple and fun to do while they fall into a story. Then, let the students keep the finished bookmarks, or use them for prizes, giveaways, swag bags, and any other literacy-boosting activities you can think of.

Enjoy!

STORYVOR bookmarks are colorful, free, printable, and designed to bring a touch of fun and inspiration to classrooms and families looking to encourage literacy.

Print out our free, handy bookmarks, cut them out, and use them at home or in the classroom. More details on the research-based benefits of reading can be found here.

How to use Storyvor’s printable bookmarks

  • Reading challenge rewards

The easiest way to use printable bookmarks? Turn them into small prizes. Hand one out when a child finishes a book, reaches a reading goal, or participates in a reading challenge. You can even let them collect different designs. This gives them a sense of achievement and makes reading feel more rewarding without needing big incentives.

  • Craft during read-aloud

Use the bookmarks as a simple hands-on activity during story time. Children can cut them out and decorate them while listening to a read-aloud. Keeping hands busy can help with focus and makes the session feel more interactive and calm.

  • Coloring activities

The downloadable file has backing on it, so that if you print double-sided, you’ll automatically have a bookmark that looks finished and professional. That said, if you’d like one extra activity option, you can also leave the back blank and allow students to color them in themselves during a read-aloud session.

Tip: For best results, print on heavy cardstock (250–300 gsm) so bookmarks are sturdy and long lasting.
