About Storyvor

STORYVOR launched in 2025 with the mission to spread the joy of reading to all. We believe deeply that literacy is key to understanding both ourselves and the world around us, and research agrees: Reading makes us happier, more connected humans.

However, literacy rates are sinking among young people, and books are being sidelined, banned, or simply ignored. Now, more than ever, we need to slow down, read, connect, and dive into other worldviews and perspectives through stories.

Cue STORYVOR, an English-language literacy resource with a global eye, providing carefully researched tips, teaching materials, reading recommendations, and more from a variety of contributors around the world.

We are generously financed through the Swiss non-profit FOUNDATIONS IN LITERACY.

We believe in ethical book buying and supporting independent booksellers. Unlike major online retailers, indie bookstores invest in their neighborhoods, champion more than just the big bestsellers, and help keep the literary ecosystem vibrant and thriving. When you buy local, you're making sure literacy, publishing, and a wide range of voices and authors can be sustained and celebrated.

At STORYVOR, all of our affiliate links lead to Bookshop.org, which gives back to independent bookstores. As Bookshop.org currently only ships to the US and UK, we also supply unaffiliated links to Better World Books, which offers shipping of new and used books globally. However, your best bet? Go to the bookshop in your town or city, or your local library. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’ll most likely be happy to order it for you.
